Accidental double-start, did I kill it?

My machine had been running smoothly for years, and then one day, I made a huge mistake. I accidentally hit the start key while it was already on, and oh man, that awful grinding sound of it double-starting still haunts me. It carried on for about 50 seconds until I finally shut it down. But here's the kicker, it never started up again after that. Do you think that double-starting was what did it in? Has anyone else experienced something like this?

That grinding might have chewed up the starter gear or flywheel teeth. You can try checking those first. Have you pulled the starter yet to take a look? Hope it's nothing serious!

When you try to start your mule and it's already running, various components can be subjected to immense stress.
That might've caused a considerable wear and tear in some parts.
Since you said it never started up again, I think it's best to take it to a qualified technician to do a thorough inspection and assess the damage.

Oof, yeah holding it that long probably did some real damage. Check the starter gear and flywheel teeth first.
