Has anyone put an Ice Crusher Heater on their 4010? I just finished mine, and it wasn't the easiest install. The main hanger bracket needed some adjusting, and getting the rear mounting clamp to fit was a bit of a hassle.

Did any of you face similar issues or have to make changes to get it set up? I'd love to hear how you managed or if you found an easier method.

I haven't tried it yet but that sounds like a nice upgrade for those chilly days! And yeah, sometimes even the easy installs turn into a wrestling match, so I hear you

I read somewhere that some had to tweak the hanger bracket and adjust the clamp too. Did you end up having to drill new holes, or was it more about bending or shaping the brackets to get them to align?

My neighbor fought with that bracket once too, the fit was off by just enough to be annoying, he ended up grinding a bit and forcing the clamp into place, didnt stay with him throughout the end though

I helped a buddy put one on his 4007 last spring and I don't recall that it caused us so much trouble.
I definitely had to tweak the main hanger bracket a bit to get it squared up, and the rear clamp was a little snug, but I managed without any major modifications.
I've heard from others that the tolerances can be a bit off sometimes with aftermarket accessories, so it's probably not just you.
It's good you got it on there eventually!

Honestly I haven't done anything like this, I don't use the mule in winter. I do have to ask, despite getting the job done, wouldn't a 12 V heater be easier to install? I'm not sure how they'd compare in terms of heating, but it's a lot easier to install.

While typing this I had a crazy idea. Some of the higher end Mules have heating, so has anyone tried to install the system on a different Mule that doesn't have it?

Installing custom brackets can be a real hassle. It often turns into a struggle. If you're looking for something a bit easier, going with simpler electric options might just save you a lot of time and effort. Trust me, it could make your life a whole lot easier
