Want to swap out the factory tires for something beefier. Anyone stretched the limits on a Mule SX without throwing off handling?

Yep, you can go a bit beefier, but not too wild, 24s fit without mods, any bigger and you risk rubbing or stressing the drivetrain, hey and also eep handling and clearance in mind

Exactly what I needed to know. I wanna avoid biting off more than I can chew with the drivetrain. Do you have any 24 inch tires you would recommend for general use?

2 votes for the Maxxis Bighorn 2.0s. I appreciate the shared suggestion. For a general purpose tire how do they perform when things get a little wet or muddy? I want to make sure they can handle varied conditions.

I wanted to circle back to my original post and update everyone who gave advice. I got a set of 24 inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires installed on my Mule about a month ago. A couple of you recommended the same tire, which helped me decide and the discussion about the Kenda tires was also informative. To answer my own question about wet performance, I can confirm they handle mud and slick trails well for an all-terrain design. The new setup gives the machine better grip, and I have not had any issues with rubbing or drivetrain strain.
